Local Info

Main Conference Venue: foyer of the A-wing of the Maclaurin Building.

Registration: available at the main venue Monday, 30 May, from 14:00 until 18:00, and 31 May - 3 June from 8:00 until 15:30.

Plenary talks are held in the David Lam Auditorium, MacLaurin A144, adjacent to the main venue. Session rooms are in the MacLaurin Building, and the adjacent Cornett Building. All rooms have a blackboard, overhead projector, and video-data projector (only).

The campus wireless network can be accessed via eduroam, or a temporary account included in the conference package. The latter will also permit access via the equipment in the MacPherson Library.

Short term bicycle rentals may be arranged through Spokes, as well as other locations in town.

For information on reaching the campus by bus, bicycle or car, see maps.

Parking information
Lot 6 is closest to the conference venue.

Food options:

There is a pharmacy on campus in the Student Union Building.

The closest medical treatment centre (walk-in clinic) to campus is the Gordon Head Treatment Centre, near the intersection of Shelbourne Street and McKenzie Avenue (103-1595 McKenzie Avenue, (250) 477-4777). Two treatment centres that have a long-standing good reputation are the Oak Bay Treatment Centre and the Fairfield Treatment Centre.

Most of the best things in Victoria are free. Locals would pay for the Royal BC Museum, Butchart Gardens, kayaking, and possibly whale watching. For the latter, we recommend Five Star Charters and Ocean Explorations.
